Holiday Breaks

Flexible holiday breaks for young adults with learning disabilities.

Our supported holiday breaks offer young people with learning disabilities the chance to enjoy a week away in a happy, safe, and sociable environment in a popular seaside resort. With all care provided by our highly skilled, dedicated staff, a break at Aurora Foxes is a great opportunity to relax, make new friends and have a lot of fun!

What to expect from your time with us:

During your stay at Aurora Foxes you will have the opportunity to take part in lots of fun and exciting activities. We have provided a widgited template of what you could expect during your holiday break below.

All meals are provided to students throughout their stay. A typical week could look like:

After spending three years as a student with us at Aurora Foxes, Lorni now lives independently and has a part-time job that she loves. She came back to Aurora Foxes for a holiday break to enjoy some respite from her work and to meet other young people with learning disabilities.

Lorni particularly enjoyed the daily trips to a traditional country fayre and the dinosaur and wildlife park where she saw Jurassic dinosaurs, meerkats, and lions. She was so busy going out and about that she didn’t have time to watch her favourite soaps!

Lorni also brought her boyfriend James along for a holiday break. He had not been to Foxes before, so this was something completely new for him. Lorni said of her stay: “I’ve really enjoyed getting back in contact with friends and now I don’t want to go back home!”

Andrew spent two years at Aurora Foxes. Since leaving us, his multiple learning difficulties have not prevented him from living independently and continuing with his further education and voluntary work.

Andrew came on his holiday break to “spend time with friends and to chill out.” He says it has been so good to come and just relax, with his favourite trip being a day out along the stunning Exmoor coastline to visit the quaint seaside towns of Lynton and Lynmouth.

During his short break, Andrew enjoyed helping to prepare the table for what he describes as “tasty meals” – including carbonara, shepherd’s pie and his favourite – roast dinner!

Andrew has been glad of the rest ahead of his next exciting challenge – he says: “When I go home, I will be starting my new, well-paid job. That makes me happy.”

Yee Lai has a physically demanding job, so she came for a holiday break to relax, meet other young people with learning disabilities and have fun. Yee Lai loves watching films, particularly musicals, so a chance to visit the summer production at the local Regal Theatre was a real treat and had her up dancing and singing along!

At the end of a busy day visiting the local Exmoor Zoo, Yee Lai welcomed the opportunity to enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal followed by a film night in the very comfortable lounge of our luxurious home environment. She also enjoyed a few lie-ins on the less busy days!
