  • Our CEO Mark Costello comments on the King’s Speech

    Published 18/07/24

I was pleased to see that in the King’s Speech and Children’s Wellbeing Bill there appears to be a renewed focus on Children and Education from the new Labour Government, this is very different from the King’s Speech of the previous Conservative Government that did not have a single piece of proposed legislation coming from the Department of Education. The Opportunities Mission and subsequent Children’s Wellbeing Bill and Skills England Bill certainly seem to signify that Children and Education are a serious priority for Labour, this can only be a positive for the younger generations, their families and the people working tirelessly in the sector.

  • We’re thrilled to announce that The Aurora Group is a certified B Corp

    Published 16/07/24

This year we were assessed independently from Octopus Group, our financial backer, and are incredibly proud to have scored 110.6 - way above the 80 point threshold required for certification. In fact our score puts us in the top 15% of all certified companies!

It’s unusual to meet the 80 point target on first assessment and globally less than 1% of companies meet the threshold for B Corp certification, so it’s a huge achievement.

But what is a B Corp and why is becoming one important?

  • Ex-student receives promotion

    Published 17/05/24

A few months ago we had the absolute pleasure of visiting Foxes graduate Harry at his place of work in Bath.

Harry has been working at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bath since graduating from Foxes in 2017. Since working at the hotel, Harry has been given a promotion to Junior Food and Beverage Supervisor for all his hard work and perseverance. We were so excited to hear of this news, that we jumped at the chance to come and film him in action, and to talk to his manager, Sonia, who gave some wonderful insight into what it's like to employ someone with a learning disability.

We had the best time with Harry and the team and we hope you enjoy the video.
