Saffy's story
Saffy's journey to independence
Ambition: Throughout her time at Foxes Academy, Saffy was driven by her aspiration to become more independent and gain paid employment.
Leadership: Saffy was elected to the Student Leadership Team and she proudly represented Foxes at the Natspec Student Parliament.
Work experience: Saffy gained valuable hospitality work experience at two placements—on reception at HOST and at the Dunster Watermill Tea Rooms. She also completed an external work experience placement arranged by Foxes, working at Hampton by Hilton Bath.
Extra curricular activities: Saffy enjoyed taking part in various activities, particularly drama and she showcased her creativity by performing in the Foxes talent show.
Post-graduation success: Saffy graduated from Foxes in July 2023. Following another voluntary work placement at Hilton, arranged by Foxes with on-site support from DS Workfit, she was offered paid employment at DoubleTree by Hilton, Bath City. Saffy now works two shifts per week as part of their breakfast service team.
Supported living: Since October 2023, Saffy has been living in supported accommodation in Odd Down, Bath, continuing her journey toward greater independence.
