Aurora Fairway School welcomes special guests
Aurora Fairway School recently welcomed special visitors, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of St Ives. They took a tour of the school to see the progress that’s been made since opening in 2022 and were really impressed by the work we do to support young people with complex learning needs.
During their visit, they showed a keen interest in understanding the diverse needs Aurora Fairway caters for, how we create a bespoke learning environment, and the wide range of activities on offer for our learners, including swimming, horse riding, gymnastics, animal care and golf, to name just a few.
The highlight of their trip was when one of our pupils asked the Mayor if he planned to become Prime Minister next year!
The visit left both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor feeling inspired and hopeful for the future of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in the area. They kindly said they’d keep in touch and support Aurora Fairway School and its pupils going forward.
A huge well done to all the children for making the special guests feel so welcome.
