Living on a dream: Aurora Foxes students meet Jon Bon Jovi

Aurora Foxes students Teal, Arianna and Faith joined Hospitality Programme Lead Zoe and Deputy Hotel Manager Amber in London at the weekend to support the Hilton Foundation Ball.

This prestigious event raises funds for the Hilton Foundation, which supports various initiatives, including beneficiaries such as the Flying Fox (Foxes Hotel's catering van), the Down Syndrome Association, and Work Fit. The ball, which hosted 700 guests, was one of the largest events we have participated in to date. We’re incredibly proud of the students who attended and their professionalism throughout the evening.

On Friday, the group travelled by train to London and spent the day exploring the shops at Westfield Shopping Centre. In the evening, they enjoyed a dinner with Esther, the HR Operations Manager for Hilton UK&I, at the Hilton London Kensington Bar.

On Saturday, the team volunteered at the Hilton Park Lane for the event. The students served champagne to guests in the exclusive "Crystal Room," which was filled with VIPs, including Hilton's Global Head of Food & Beverage, the Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Hilton UK & Ireland, and even Jon Bon Jovi. The students had the opportunity to take a picture with Bon Jovi, we later had to educate the students on who Bon Jovi is and introduce them to Livin' On a Prayer!

Following the service, the students were treated to the same meal served to the event guests and were made to feel like royalty. They assisted the Hilton volunteers in selling raffle tickets and distributing prizes for the auction, which included a Bon Jovi guitar that was bid on for an impressive £30,000.

The evening featured entertainment from the cast of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, who performed after their West End show, followed by a lively disco that continued into the early hours.

On Sunday, the group decided to return early due to adverse weather conditions. Despite the challenging journey, the students demonstrated remarkable adaptability, patience, and attentiveness, following instructions flawlessly.

This event was an extraordinary opportunity, filled with fun, ambition, and inspiration.
