Why Foxes?
We are a specialist college and training hotel for young people with learning disabilities, situated in the friendly seaside town of Minehead.
From day one, everything at Foxes is geared towards helping our students to become work ready and life ready! Our courses, work experience and placements enable young people to gain skills and qualifications needed to have a successful working life in the hospitality sector.
At Aurora Foxes, we believe in changing lives by giving young people the skills, knowledge and confidence to successfully shape their own futures. We develop a personalised programme of learning for each young person, with a clear roadmap of progression to enable them to achieve their unique potential.
Work Experience
Students gain valuable work experience from day one in Foxes Hotel which is open to the public. Students also have an external work placement in the local community. The development of close working relationships with local organisations has led to a work placement scheme that carefully matches the needs of each individual with an appropriate employer.
Foxes Hotel - our on-site hotel, provides an opportunity for our students to learn all the skills needed to have a successful working life in the hospitality sector including customer service.

NEW Flying Fox Catering Truck - Funded by a £30,000 grant from the Hilton Global Foundation, The Flying Fox gives students the opportunity to learn outdoor catering skills such as food preparation, hygiene and storage.

Work Placements – Our relationships with local employers and national hospitality employers, such as Hilton, means we are able to integrate work experience within each course.

Our Outcomes
- 97% of 2020 graduates achieved their NVQ Level 1 Hospitality Services qualifications
- 100% of 2020 graduates achieved their Level 1 and Level 2 Food Hygiene qualifications
- Seven Aurora Foxes graduates are employed in six of Hilton’s hotels
