Parents and Carers
When your child joins Aurora Wilden View, they become part of our school community. They will have access to the right type of support, both academically, pastorally and therapeutically to enable them to fulfil their potential. Through a range of integrated therapeutic services, we help each student to develop their academic ability, self-confidence, life skills and independence.
At Aurora Wilden View, every student is allocated a ‘Key Worker’ who supports a number of students and provides a bespoke mentoring package of support linked to the students’ strengths and areas for development, as outlined in their EHCP. There are significant opportunities throughout a school day for their key worker to meet with their students and to provide intervention and support. In addition, each student forms a part of our everyday school life.
Students will be part of a tutor group, consisting of around 8 students with key members of staff to work alongside. They will be taught by subject specialist teachers throughout the week, to enable them to access a high-quality education. In addition, the onsite therapy team will work with students providing targeted support and interventions. We also offer a significant amount of additional opportunities, to broaden the horizons of our students beyond the curriculum.
By the time our students leave us, they will be ready to take on the challenges of adulthood – whether they choose to pursue further education, training or the world of work.
Meals
Healthy school meals are provided and we can offer a choice of where students eat depending on their needs, this could be with others or 1:1. Special dietary requirements are catered for (due to allergies, intolerance, religious and other beliefs).
Uniform
At Aurora Wilden View, our students are not required to wear uniform but the clothing worn needs to be appropriate for completing an education which will involve a significant amount of outdoor learning.
Term dates
Our term dates are published annually and are available here.
