Our Curriculum
Every young adult has the opportunity to try new experiences when they arrive with us. We offer a variety of activities through our Skills programme, including cooking, music, art, sensory, ICT and community activities such as shopping, swimming and social enterprise.
Once they have had time to try out a range of activities, we hold a meeting with them along with their tutors, therapist, family and external professionals, to agree long, medium and short-term aims and targets based on their aspirations and goals and to develop an individual timetable that includes a variety of activities from our Skills programme.
Young people at Aurora Orchard Manor have the opportunity to learn work-related skills, develop their confidence and improve their communication skills by taking part in a range of fun social enterprise activities – past ventures have included making and selling soap, dog biscuits, cards, wrapping paper and chutney!
When a young person is ready to move on from us, they are supported to visit other places and explore the opportunities that are available. Our team supports both them and the staff at their new home to understand their needs and challenges and to facilitate the transition.
